· 90791   Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluation/Intake Session 

· 90832  Individual - 30 min

· 90834  Individual - 45 min

· 90837  Individual - 53 min (also known as a "50 min" code, but is booked for an hour time slot)

· 90846  Family/Couples, without patient present - 50 min

· 90847  Family/Couples, with patient present - 50 min

· 90853  Group Therapy (time varies)

· 90849  Multiple-family Group Therapy (time varies)

Direct (face-to-face) Prolonged Service CPT Codes

99354 & 99355 are add-on CPT codes that can be used for extended sessions with Psychotherapy CPT codes 90837 & 90847 in the following ways:

· Individual - 90 min and above: 

  90837 (60 min), followed by 99354 (30 - 74 min)

· Individual - 135 min and above: 

  90837 (60 min), followed by 99354 (30 - 74 min), and 99355 (ea. added 30 min)

· Family/Couples - 80 min and above: 

  90847 (50 min), followed by 99354 (30 - 74 min)

· Family/Couples - 125 minutes and above: 

  90847 (50 min), followed by 99354 (30 - 74 min), and 99355 (ea. added 30 min)
